Have more fun than the AI
While you are reading this article about 1400 people will join social media

Wouldn’t you rather be dull?
“It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting”
That is really what it all boils down to. Is a life of interest, activity, adventure and connection worth it?
We are all at risk of getting washed out by the raging river of our culture.
The level of cultural consumption for the entire world is growing at a rate of 7.6 new users every second and that means proportionately more content will be created and consumed. That also means that its easier than ever to just scroll until we fall asleep.
Allow me to propose something.
We are not the best versions of ourselves when we are taking in too much content. You can decide for yourself how much is too much. I’m suggesting that if you haven’t thought about how much you want to scroll and consume, you probably should.
The antidote is simple. And has two steps:
1) Find something that you can share. It doesn’t have to be personal, or even have much context. Literally a photo of a flower, a quote that you like, whatever. Shifting from silently consuming to contributing in some way is very helpful to our souls. It reminds us that there is a back and forth.
2) Deliberately do something that is disconnected from the digital world and is enjoyable. Walk a dog. Pray or meditate. Have a drink or meal sitting outside. Play a game.
Just unplug. That’s the garden of planting dreams.
Everybody wants to vacation, nobody wants to wait in line at the airport
“Most people write copy like they are writing instruction manuals. They got lost in explaining how the sausage is made and no one cares.”
As a clinically diagnosed yapper (jk that’s not a real thing!) I feel this advice. I am so tempted to get bogged down in description and process while failing to get to the point. The classic example is the YouTube video describing the new channel and why it was created and blah, blah, blah. If you are someone who wants to sell, influence, and market this is a critical lesson to learn.
The old less is more, or keep it simple stupid adage rings true.
Let me see if I can show, not tell:

AI should support my main character energy
Most of my interactions with technology this week have involved a very apologetic AI agent that was helping me build a website. It kept failing to process the tasks that I was giving it, and it needed some firm text lecturing.
Should I be concerned that AI is inflating my ego?
I have cited an X post by Greg Isenberg. He is a marketer who is clearly doubling down on AI use cases. I feel like I was a slow starter when it comes to AI, before last fall I really had hardly explored any of the LLMs. I was able to warm up to the idea by hearing this and other podcasts talk about how AI can be used for business and that is what helped me get started learning.
Where are you at on your professional or personal journey with AI interaction?
Send me a note by replying to this email. I would love to hear how you are finding uses for the robots.
Naturally, this has been added to our playlist.
