Some of the why
The common advice is start with why and start in the middle.

The most important thing
The single greatest skill you can develop is the ability to stay in a great mood in the absence of things to stay in a great mood about.
There are two reasons that I start this newsletter with a section about attitudes of thought. The first is pretty simple in our digital age so many of the ideas we encounter are delivered in a format that is fleeting. I believe the quote here is from an Instagram Reel and I probably saved it, yet the odds of me returning to that are embarrassingly low. Because it stood out as helpful, I went out of my way to stick a pin in it and share the quote here.
That’s the first reason. I want to remember certain ideas and this is a great way to pay some extra attention to them.
The second reason to place attention on our mindsets is the importance of the subject which this quote from Alex Hormozi is actually about. What he is identifying is a skill or trait and highlighting it’s importance. And I will argue that he is absolutely correct in this judgement. That is also why I have committed to making this a priority.
If by writing this and if by reading this we are collectively learning to use our minds to change the perceptions and feelings we experience despite the circumstances. It will genuinely make the world a better place. Too high an expectation for a newsletter? Why set any goal that is lower? Rather this effort to develop and grow is the most important focus for all of us.
Just do it?
Complexity is the enemy of execution
The Nike slogan doesn’t end with a question mark. Overthinking and overplanning get in the way of progress. Obviously there is some sort of a balance here where we should think about our actions. But if the choice is to think about it or just do it, there doesn’t need to be a question.
Your character becomes your destiny
I’m sure that you’ll be glad to know the Lucky Fox Spotify playlist has grown again. This time with a familiar friend, Akira The Don. Previously we employed his experimental style of music to amplify Gary Vaynerchuk. Today I want to introduce you to another one of the voices that offer great wisdom to the life of someone building a business, especially online. Naval Ravikant is hands down one of the most important modern thinkers I have encountered in recent years. His X posts are beloved by millions of people and his approach to earning money, acquiring wealth, finding joy in work and wholeness in life seem both fresh and ancient at the same time. There are plenty of ways to pursue a greater understanding of his work but if you only have a few minutes and are curious about why I choose to include the idea of luck in naming this newsletter, then check this sound bite out.
